Minutes of the Fall 2004 Ski Coaches Meeting
Eaglebrook School, Monday, October 25, 2004

1) Convened 7:00 p.m.

2) Introductions

4. Miss Hall's School - Malik Farlow
5. Mohawk Regional H.S. - James Finney
6. Northfield Mt. Hermon School - Greg Leeds
7. Williston Northampton School - Edward Hing, Janice Hanley

3) Schedule

• Reviewed schedule created at the spring meeting
• All races at Berkshire East

4) Review teams in the league

• SBS and FRHS will not participate this year.
• Does Wilbraham still have an interest?
• Coaches will notify Marc Dancer by December 15, 2004 with their team divisions

5) Duty Assignments

• Coaches meeting before each race helped in the running of the race.
• The number of coaches is down so assignment of duties will be a bit harder.
• We should look for outside help for the starter position. They would be compensated.
• Greg Leeds will produce the duty assignments for 2005

6) Race Day Procedures

• Reviewed missed start policy established at the spring meeting.
• Skier Overtaken Policy
  • Skier can be passed and still may complete the course (i.e., NOT disqualified).
• Course Maintenance - Coaches need to attend to the course whenever possible
• Report 1st run DQ's in a timely fashion
• Coaches need to impress upon their racers the need for the top seeds to slip the course after their run.
• Gatekeeping/Race Official
  • Report to the timing hut after the race for any clarifications
  • Gatekeepers need to write down and radio in any DQ's .
